1982 expressive oil on canvas still life depicting a detailed bowl of oranges against an abstracted field of colors. Signed and dated in the upper left corner by Gabriel Mayorga (1911-1988).

The artist Gabriel Mayorga worked across mediums as a painter, sculptor and illustrator in New York City. He studied at the National Academy of Design with Leon Kroll and Ivan Olinsky, and at the Art students League with Robert Brachman. From 1940-1965, Mayorga was the director of Mannequins by Mayorga, Inc in New York. He taught at the Pan American Art School from 1960 until 1972.

Condition: In excellent vintage condition. Some minor wear and discoloration as pictured.
